is the watchword of health care these days. Change processes are
often where improvements in health care bog down. Here are some
resources to help you understand, prepare for, and lead change in
your healthcare organization.
This
assessment method checklist helps assess change readiness in an
organization. It was developed by Dr John Øvretveit, Director
of Research, at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. It is available

Lessons
in Health Care From Britain
Some of the most exciting improvements in the delivery of health
care services in the world these days are happening in Britain.
The Service Delivery and Organisation (SDO) Programme of the British
National Health Service studies and collects information on the
organization, management and delivery of health care services.

Changing
Patients' Care
In this 2003 article in the medical journal The Lancet, Grol and
Grimshaw review current knowledge about how to change medical practice.
They report that change is possible, but that it requires comprehensive
approaches at different levels (doctor, team practice, hospital,
wider environment), tailored to specific settings and target groups.
